Q: How does Decorated by Suzette work?
A: Decorated By Suzette is a full-service interior decorating company, providing everything from concept to execution. I bring innovative design solutions that will enhance your living space and make you love your home. Best of all, I execute all phases of the design process (as agreed upon) from initial consultation to product selection and final installation, I handle every detail. I am truly a one stop design solution.
Q: What happens on my first appointment?
A: One thing I like to do when meeting a client for the first time is to take a quick tour of your home. This will give me a sense of the architecture, the layout of your home, your lifestyle, as well as future decorating plans. Then I will sit down with you and we will view some design styles together so that you can see some of the work that I’ve done, and I can see what styles you’re most drawn to.
I cover a lot of information in the first appointment, including general design ideas, priorities, and budget ranges. At the end of the appointment, we will list your priorities and discuss budget ranges. Now the fun begins! Initial consultations do vary in time.
Q: How do I determine a budget for my project?
A: Many people think that working with an interior decorator is expensive. However, it doesn’t have to be. When you work with Decorated By Suzette, the initial consultation fee is put towards any future services, should you retain me – this is where I help you figure out your desired style, project priorities, and comfortable budget range. Since I have vast knowledge of a wide variety of merchants and suppliers, I can help you determine a budget range that is comfortable for you based on your priorities. Once we’ve established your budget, you can relax and know that everything I show you will fit within the budget you chose for your project.
Q: Is there a minimum or maximum project size?
A: I work on projects of all sizes! I believe no job is too big or too small. From a single room to a whole house — every job and customer is important to me!
Q: Will you work with my existing pieces/furnishings that are in the room?
A: Yes. Understanding what pieces will be staying in the space is part of establishing the scope of work for the project. I want to ensure that your space is a unique reflection of you and contains all the furnishings that are most meaningful to you.
Q: Do you shop with me in stores?
A: Most of the time, YES! There will definitely be times that we will shop together! However, sometimes I will instruct you on where to pick up specific items. Because Decorated By Suzette does not handle your personal project funds, all purchases will need to be directly made by the customer.
Q: What’s the timeframe to finish the project?
A: Time varies as each project is unique. Estimated timeframes will be talked about during your initial consultation.
Q: Is the consultation refundable?
A: No, the consultation fee is not refundable, however, it will go towards your fees for services should you retain Decorated By Suzette.
